Shopping, money and the post
Shops, prices and the till, accounts and transfers, letters and parcels.
What holds these lists together
The first question when shopping is Ne kadar? or Kaç lira?, and the answer comes in lira and kuruş. Many small shops have names of their own: fruit and veg at the manav, meat at the kasap, the basics at the bakkal on the corner. At B1 you go to the bank counter, to instalments (taksit), which are quite normal when shopping, and to the post office, where a parcel can also be paid for on the doorstep (kapıda ödeme, cash on delivery).
For example: alışveriş (shopping), kargo (courier, delivery), banka hesabı (bank account)
