Check a Turkish text: vocabulary and level
Paste in a Turkish text. This page holds it up against its 2772 words and tells you how many of them sit at which level — and which words do not appear here at all. Everything runs in your browser; the text never leaves your device.
What this analysis tells you — and what it does not
“Not on this site” does not mean “hard”. Names, technical terms, place names and everything there is no word list for here end up in the same place. The list is a suggestion for looking things up, not an inventory of your gaps.
The estimated level is the one at which 95 % of the words are covered — not the highest one that occurs. A single word from a high level does not make a text of that level. 95 % is the threshold from which a text can be read without looking something up every third sentence.
Inflected forms are recognised — evlerimizde, kitabı, geliyorum, gitti, gidiyor, okulda. A Turkish word often carries several suffixes in a row; the forms are generated when this site is built, not guessed in the browser. Which ones they are is set out in tools/tuerkisch_formen.py and inhalt/de_tr/wortformen.py.
