More about this list

At work you will hear many words from French and English — departman, rapor, proje — alongside the Turkish ones that public offices and large firms use: birim, kurum, yetki. Many activities are a noun plus a verb, just as in English “take notes”: not almak, çıktı almak “to print out”, literally “to take an output”, izne çıkmak “to go on leave”. With superiors people use siz: Raporu size gönderdim. “I have sent you the report.”
